Phlegmor

Erupting from Mount Praetorous alongside the phlegmunculi, phlegmors are half-coagulated blobs of greenish-yellow sludge that seep down the mountainous slopes like diseased sputum. They slobber past clashing steel to strike with long, thick tendrils of ropey mucus at archers, mages, commanders who thought they were safe at the rear. Their tendrils constrict with crushing force, dragging victims into their gelatinous mass to be slowly dissolved.

But they do more than kill. As they squelch and burble among allies, they shed viscous coating that hardens on contact—a second skin of disgusting sludge-armor that reeks of rot. Worse still, bits of bone, armor, and other remnants float inside their translucent bodies, forming natural plating that shifts with unsettling purpose.

Phlegmors are more than snot from the dark god Uul. They are an unstoppable tide, and theirs is a rain whose purpose Praetoria will know soon enough.
