Stampeding Calf
Beku Janda was told to stay behind. “You’re too young,” they said. “Too small, too reckless.”
But Beku didn’t listen. He trailed after Bella Ratajowlski and her war party, hiding behind hillocks and in the prairie grass. When the first battle began, he charged straight into the fray, barreling through enemies twice his size with a wild roar and a grin stretched across his face.
He doesn’t know formations. Doesn’t follow orders. But he charges like a bull and hits hard enough to make seasoned warriors stumble.
Bella tried to send him home once. The next day, he was back, charging into the fight again.
Now she just tells the others to keep up with him. Or get out of his way.
