Spitting Camel
Spitting camels are hardy mammals native to the Wild Northeast, ranging from the windswept Northeast Coastal Steppes to the arid reaches of the Drybone Badlands. Their migrations follow the availability of water, and they can endure months without drinking, surviving extreme shifts from freezing cold to scorching heat.
While they travel in herds in the wild, spitting camels have long been domesticated by the region’s settlers. Their strength, endurance, and tolerance for harsh conditions make them reliable pack animals, capable of carrying heavy loads across long distances with minimal rest.
When threatened, a spitting camel regurgitates the contents of its stomach, mixes it with saliva, and hurls it at its target. The result is an unhygienic spray meant to distract or repel predators. There are worse things to be spat on by. But not many.
