Silverleaf Ranger

The rangers of the Silverleaf family don’t fight for glory or noble titles. They serve the will of Rathlorien Silverleaf and the interests of the family as scouts, messengers, and—when the need arises—defenders of the Silverleafs’ woodland domain.

With the politics of Thanaloria in turmoil, Rathlorien needs his veteran rangers to consolidate his power. So those who accompany Kaylia in the fight against the Conclave Arcana are young. But youth makes them bold. They fire arrow after arrow in rapid succession at Mahkah’s mercenaries and elementals. They quickly bind their wounds and fire again.

Youth makes them naive, too. They think they can end this quickly if they just send enough arrows downrange fast enough. They are wrong.

As the battles rage on, Mahkah’s army of earth only grows. The rangers’ strength is fading. They stop to catch their breath before reaching into their quivers for another arrow. Their muscles tremble as they draw back their bowstrings. Wounded, they take a knee and painstakingly bind their wounds.

Days blur into nights. Nights blur into days. But the fighting stretches on endlessly.
