Arila Maelanoril walks a fine line between devotion and death. A faithful of Serathera, Goddess of the Wilderness, she prays with the same hands that take lives. In the courts of Thanaloria, she is called assassin. In the church of her goddess, she is called priestess.

Arila serves Rathlorien Silverleaf as both blade and benediction. She offers his family protection through whispered prayers and sacred rites. And when that isn’t enough, she offers blood instead.

Now, at Rathlorien’s command, she joins Kaylia’s fellowship in a desperate bid to stop Mahkah Hemlig’s desecration of their woodland domain in the Conclave Arcana’s search for the secret of Praetoria. Arila whispers a prayer, draws her blades, and the forest floor runs red.

She knows the odds are hopeless. She knows the fellowship may not survive. Still, Arila Maelanoril fights on, hoping Serathera hears her prayers for rebirth amid the ruin.
