Moribund Arrowbait

Zawadi Sangara should be dead. Arrows pierce her chest, her sides, her legs, her back. Too many to count.

But she doesn’t have time to take a knee, pull them out, and dress the wounds. Instead, she grits her teeth, hurls her spear, and unleashes another surge of life magic. Then another. And another.

Zawadi isn’t here to survive. She’s here to fight.

The other ulund plead with her to rest. She won’t. Not while there’s breath left in her.

Instead of falling back, she fights on, burning through defenses, shattering wards, and shredding armor like they're made of nothing but hopes and prayers.

If she dies, so be it. Her fall will make the others stronger.

Because Zawadi Sangara isn’t fighting for herself. She’s fighting for every ulund who still has someone left to lose.
