Brynn found the dwarf after the Battle of Ember Ridge, pinned under a fallen tree with his armor cracked open and his warhammer just out of reach. She should have kept moving. The Chaos Empire's legions were still close.

Instead, she stayed and struggled until she heaved the tree off him. She dragged him clear and bound his wounds. Then they hunkered in the woods as night fell and prayed the empire's patrols wouldn't find them.

When his kin arrived at dawn, the dwarf pressed his warhammer into her talons. "Ironbreaker," he said, his voice rough as gravel. "Forged her myself. She's yours now. Hits true every time, but she'll take her toll. Mind that."

He unstrapped his breastplate and gave it to her, too. Then he clasped her shoulder and left.

Brynn didn't understand the warning until her first battle with Ironbreaker in hand. The hammer never missed. Every swing found its mark with the certainty of a falling stone. Shields shattered. Armor buckled. Bones broke clean.

But, gods, the hammer wasn't just heavy. Each strike drained Brynn—not just her muscles, but something deeper, like Ironbreaker pulled strength from her marrow to fuel its perfect aim. She learned to pace herself. Charge hard, hit harder, then fall back and catch her breath while the dwarf's armor turned spells into harmless light and heat.

When word came that Mahkah Hemlig was ripping the earth apart in search of Praetoria's secret, Brynn hefted Ironbreaker onto her shoulder and marched west.

In battle, she's a storm. She charges the enemy line with Ironbreaker swinging in wide, devastating arcs. Mercenaries scatter. Elementals crumble.

Then she stops, leaning on the hammer, gasping. Her allies cover her while she recovers. A few breaths. A moment's rest.

Then she lifts Ironbreaker and charges again.
