Empusan Darkguard

Empusae are lesser demons from the lower planes who feed on violence and blood. While others scheme, empusae simply want to hurt things and drink what spills. They love close combat. They wade into enemy formations with axes swinging, blood spraying across their faces, and they laugh and lick it from their lips as they fight.

When Barashkukor sent his Darkguard to the Pristine Northwest, the empusae marched north under the banner of alliance. The ulund and Khymians welcomed them because they needed warriors who could hold against Palifala's magic.

The empusae give them exactly that. Their axes carve through Palifala's forces, slaughtering the weak and wounded, turning every assault into bloody chaos.

But they don't care about their "allies." Underlord Malthraksis promised them violence. For now, they kill the Conclave Arcana, but soon, they'll kill everyone else.
