Darkguard Ironwing

Darkguard ironwings are ravenfolk operatives trained to hunt the battlefield's greatest threats. They identify the most dangerous opponent and eliminate them.

They carry massive shields, but not for defense alone. Ironwings use them to smash and bludgeon, and their attacks sap the vigor of their targets. Champions become liabilities, and heroes become burdens. Between battles, they maintain their shields with obsessive precision, hammering out dents, replacing broken plates, sharpening edges.

When Barashkukor learned of Palifala Weslinath's time magic, he saw an opportunity to claim power that could crush the Kingdom of Khymia. He assembled a Darkguard strike team under Underlord Malthraksis with orders to infiltrate the conflict, pose as allies, then capture Palifala when the moment comes. Alive if possible, dead with her spellbooks if not.

The ironwings "volunteer" to reinforce the ulund and Khymian forces. They fight alongside them, tearing down Palifala's best defenders one by one while operatives like Esper Shadowbeak move into position.

The ulund think they've gained powerful allies. They don't realize the Belurocians aren't here to save them.
