Firebrand Ranger

Firebrand rangers are the Ferexian Empire's precision specialists, trained to identify and eliminate priority targets while supporting heavier units. Enemy mages, officers, archers. Anyone directing the battle from behind the front lines. Their fire magic burns hot and focused, dropping backline threats before they can react.

They're drawn from the lower castes, individuals with innate fire magic and intimate knowledge of volcanic terrain. Their training emphasizes pain endurance alongside marksmanship. They learn to fight through wounds that would drop normal soldiers, channeling their suffering into their magic. Burns make their flames hotter, poison sharpens their focus, even friendly fire only strengthens their next strike. The Ministry calls it discipline. The rangers call it survival.
